Due to the large amount of wall panels needed in this project, I created two parametric wall panel families to ensure our interior finishes were modeled efficiently and worked in both the 3D rendered space and in construction documentation. The top and bottom rows of panels show the Flat Face-Based Wall Panel family I created, meant to represent markerboard panels (bottom) and FRL panels (top). The middle row shows the Rounded Edge Face-Based Wall Panel, meant to represent acoustic panels.
These panels are able to be directly butted next to each other while still showing a seam in the 3D rendered space. The panels are easy to place and are equipped with parameters for adjusting length and width, panel thickness, and edge radius. They are also pre-loaded with render-ready materials and corresponding hatch patterns for interior elevations. These panel families are now used regularly throughout our Educational projects.
